OK. I received a lot of mails in the last month. So, here is the FAQ. I’ll try to list all the questions and answers here.
Your Question is not listed here? Contact me.
You used a v2.01 frame. Are the the parts compatible with a v2.5 frame?
Yes, all parts are compatible. You just need 10mm longer rods on Z and X-axis.
I’m a beginner, which bearings should i use?
As a beginner you should choose LM8UU bearings on hardened steel rods.
Why didn’t you use the silent IGUS bearings on Z-Axis?
The IGUS bearings and any other glide gearing are not clearance free, so the complete X-Axis can move a bit in any direction. That is what you really don’t want to have.
Why do you recommend hardened steel smooth rods, not stainless ones? (when using LM8UU bearings)
Stainless steel smooth rods are not as hard as the LM8UU bearings. They will wear quickly.
Spend your money in cf53 8h6 hardened steel rods. They last a very long time
Which stepper driver should i choose?
I recommend the TMC2100 stepper driver. They are very silent and worth the price.
If you want to go for a lower price, choose the classic ones A4988 (1/16 microstepping) or the DRV8825 (1/32 microstepping). Don’t expect them to be silent.
What kind of heated print bed should i use?
I you want to print ABS you need a high power heater. I recommend the silicone heaters.
If you just want to to print PLA and PETG you can go for standart MK3 heated bed.
Is the RAMPS fan extender necessary?
No, it is not. It’s just a little nice extensions that makes it possible to have all fans controled. The printer will be absolutely silent in idle mode.
If you don’t have the extender just connect board and hotend cooling directly to your power supply.
How long does it take to print all parts?
Expect a printing time of at least 40 hours. If you are not really experienced the printing time can rise up to 100 hours, when you need to reprint some parts
Is there an alternative to that aluminium z-threaded rod coupler?
Yes. You can print your own coupler. This one will work very fine: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:602481
Why is the Y-Endstop not adjustable?
There is no need to make it adjustable. You can adjust the offset to your „0“-Point easily in your Firmware.
I recommend to do this for the X-Endstop too. Move the X-axis-endstop-mount as far as possible to the left side and use firmware offset.
How can I fix the Y-belt onto the tensioner?
Use a little piece of a ziptie or something else.

The small pin of my X-carriage broke. I need a spare part.
No, you don’t. Even a broken pin will work 100%.
Which part will trigger the Y-endstop-switch?
The bearing will trigger the switch. There is no need for an additional part.
How to assemble/configure the TMC 2100 stepper driver?
A picture tells you more than words.
